Sawgrass encompasses a 2600-acre gated residential community and country club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It is located off State Road A1A between Jacksonville Beach and Saint Augustine, along the Atlantic Ocean.
The residential community includes a variety of sizes and styles of homes from large single family homes to condo apartments. Within this framework there are 28 individually named communities, each with their own governing body. The Sawgrass Association, Inc. Board of Directors governs the residential complex, of which all property owners are members.
The country club includes facilities for golf, tennis, swimming, and fitness at the golf course, tennis courts, fitness center, and three swimming pools. Dining and entertainment overlooking either golf course or the beach is provided at the golf clubhouse or the beach club. Short-term memberships are available for volunteers.

Sawgrass is a popular rental choice for The Players Championship because of its location and facilities.
